Accounting for all the paint usage is an important aspect of monitoring a Bodyshop's operation. Add to that, understanding what products are used and in which proportions, a paint usage report provides you all the necessary information.
For a selected time period, the paint usage lists all products used and the amounts poured over a weighing scale.
Categories
To make the report more readable, the report categorizes paint consumption in the following ways -
- Product category level detail - The report starts with paint consumption grouped per product category. The product categories are Primers/Fillers, Shaded Primers, Colors, Clearcoats, Hardeners, Mixing Thinners, Cleaning Solvents, and Others. If you would like to expand further and see all the products under these product categories, click on "Show Products".
- Workorder level detail - Each consumption activity is related to a job/workorder. If you would like to see the workorders for which the paint was used, click on "Show Workorders (works when products are shown)". Please note that workorders can be expanded only when "Show products" is selected. Also, if a mix is not associated with a workorder, you will see a grouping called "Not assigned to a workorder".
- Totals - At the end of the table, you will have a total amount of paint usage in the selected period and the associated costs.
Charts
Category comparison charts
The report shows the paint usage amount per category and the costs. This lets the user understand how the categories are proportionally used.
The category charts are by default shown as doughnut charts. If the user wishes to see them as bar charts, (s)he can click on the button "Display information as Bar Chart". Click on "Display information as Doughnut Chart" brings back the doughnut chart view.
Paint usage over time chart
The last chart shows the paint usage amount over time. This data is also grouped per product category. By hovering (placing the mouse pointer) on the bars, a tooltip will provide more information for the selected bar. The amount per time bar chart shows months on the x-axis and the amount on the y-axis.
Data export
Export the Paint Usage report by clicking on the "Export" button in the layout. Exporting data can be helpful for users who have other data systems such as a Bodyshop management system (BMS).
