type in %localappdata% on the address bar.
This will open the address C:\Users\[…]\AppData\Local ([…] being your user folder)
Create the folder: "AkzoNobel"
Open the new "AkzoNobel folder"
Your path should now be "C:\Users\[…]\AppData\Local\AkzoNobel"
Create the folder "Instrument Manager"
Open de new "Instrument Manager" folder
Your path should now be "C:\Users\[…]\AppData\Local\AkzoNobel\Instrument Manager"
In this folder, create the folders: "bak", "bin", "dat" and "temp" as shown above.
Step 3:
Note: in case you skipped step 2, please close Instrument Manager and delete all the files in the bin folder before you perform below steps.
Copy the downloaded program files:
Open de "bin" folder (found in %localappdata%...AkzoNobel/Instrument Manager)
Open the "im.zip" file located in your downloads folder.
Select all files contained in the im.zip. file and drag all these files to the "bin" folder. (there should be a total of 128 files).
Step 4:
In the "bin" folder we need to create new file called "version". Go to New item on the Home ribbon, as shown below, and select Text Document, call it "version" and hit enter.
The file will be all the way to the bottom of the "bin" folder. Open the file and type in the version number of Instrument Manager that you are installing manually. At the time of writing this manual, the IM version is 3.1157.20, in the "version.txt".
Now save the file.
The last action is, to take out the .txt extension. Right-click on "version.txt", select the option rename, delete ".txt" and hit enter. A popup will appear, confirm your action by clicking on "yes".
All done here, please proceed to step 5.
