Instrument Manager requires a valid certificate, and this certificate needs to be updated annually. Our current certificate is set to expire on November 19, 2023, so it's essential that we renew it before that date.
What to expect during the update:
We've made the process as seamless as possible, building upon last year's successful update approach.
During office hours:
If your computer is on during the release, you will be prompted to update Instrument Manager when you open the measurements or formula page. We've attached screenshots for reference.
On the measurement screen:
On the formula page:
Outside office hours:
For computers that are off during the release. Instrument Manager will initiate the update automatically when your PC starts up.
Important Note: Admin rights are required for this update. Here's what you can expect depending on your user status:
Users with Admin Rights:
Depending on the User Account Control settings in Windows. You may get the prompt to accept the certificate changes, similar to the screenshot provided. Click 'Yes' to proceed with the update. If you do not get this the update will proceed accordingly.
2. Users without Admin Rights:
If your network administrator manages your PC, they will need to approve the update. They can do this in two ways:
- On the measurements page click on Update Instrument Manager" button. The same popup as the above screenshot will show up, with the addition of logging in with other user credentials. The network administrator can log in here to approve the update.
- Log in as an admin user, navigate the MIXIT measurement page, and click on 'Update Instrument Manager' to perform the update. When done log back into the paints account.
